    -->  We are offering a small group of old US Army buttons we just acquired, all of them dating from the Civil War to possibly some time in the 1880's.  Please NOTE that we are not sure of the exact age of each button, but will describe each to the best of our ability.
    -->  This is a US Eagle button with a shield and an "I" in the center, standing for Infantry. The button measures 7/8 of an inch in diameter. The back is marked, "SMFGCO - Extra Rich Gilt."
    CONDITION:   Very Good. Some tarnish on surface.
