REEVES TURTLE SHELL - TAXIDERMY

Description

Complete top and bottom shell of an adult female Reeves turtle. There are no missing parts. The shell measures about 7" long, 5" at its widest part and 2&1/4" high.  The scutes are all there. Some are showing a little wear but hardly noticeable. I have given the shell a coat of polyurethane to prevent the scutes from falling off.  Scutes are the paper thin colorful part of the shell.  Beneath them is white bone of the turtle. Notice the indent in the left side of the shell. This is the way this turtle came out of its egg and has never been a problem. The turtle lived a very long life but died a few years ago and the cause was unknown. It is not a protected species, but a hard shell to find.
I usually mail the morning after payment is received and cleared, except Weekends and Holidays.
