Reed College is a private liberal arts college on 116 acres in suburban Portland. It was established in 1908. This institution has over 1,400 students. There are only 23 postgraduate students. It has an endowment of over 500 million dollars and sponsors few sports teams.
SS Reed Victory was a 455' WW II cargo ship launched on April 3, 1945 by Oregon Shipbuilding Corp in Portland. She transported vital supplies to US and Allied Forces during WW II, survived the war and was sold to a private Dutch firm in 1946. She carried commercial cargo under one different name until sold for recycling into scrap metal in 1970.
