    Army Plated "I" inside Shield Eagle Button, Waterbury Button Co. 7/8 Inch
    -->  This is a plated US Army brass button with an "I" inside a shield, standing for Infantry. The button measures 7/8 of an inch in diameter.
    -->  We are offering a small group of old US Army buttons we just acquired, all of them dating from the Civil War to possibly some time in the 1880's.  Please NOTE that we are not sure of the exact age of each button, but will describe each to the best of our ability.
    -->  This is a US Eagle button with a shield and an "I" in the center, standing for Infantry. The button measures 7/8 of an inch in diameter, and is marked on the back, "Waterbury Button Co."
    CONDITION:  DAMAGED!  Please NOTE that the center of the button has been crushed in on the back. The front looks OK, but some of the plating is coming off of the back.
